'Mme Hardy' produces its flush of fragrant white flowers in June and is a reliable performer in mixed borders and in dedicated rose beds. Along with other Damask roses, it only needs lightly pruning each year after flowering. Reduce the main stem by around a quarter and cut-back side stems a little more. Damask roses often benefit from a little extra support to hold up the softer flowering stems.
