This is an old favourite with uniform, cylindrical carrots which grow to about 15cm (6in) long. It is a sweet flavoured variety with orange-red flesh and no core. For an early crop start sowing in March, if weather permits, in a warm, well-drained spot or from April to July, in rows 30cm (12in) apart.
