Summer cauliflowers are different to those grown for winter and spring use. They have a tender, milder flavour and are not hardy enough to stand the winter without protection. Sown in succession they will provide a continuous crop from summer to autumn. Sow under glass from February to March, hardening them off before planting out, or sow in prepared seedbeds from March to May. Lateman' is a versatile variety with medium-sized, white heads which are ready for cutting from August to October.
