Volunteers at Hogganfield Park As part of Springwatch 2008, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Scotland challenged listeners to turn unloved pieces of land into breathing places for people and nature. Over one weekend locations across the UK were tackled by special ‘SWAT’ teams. The teams of local volunteers had one day to transform a piece of land.Ìý The sites which were chosen were neglected and had potential for aÌý real transformation. Michelle McManus and Councillor Leonard What happened at Hogganfield Park?Volunteers helped create and plant new ponds. One of the ponds was designed to help drainage near a play area.
