You may be lucky enough to have an office overlooking the sea or some fantastic countryside.听 Maybe you work in a high-rise office block with an amazing view?听 Or maybe you just see everyday life going on? Take photo of the view from your office window (you can always include a few work colleagues as well!) with a digital camera or mobile phone. Email it to us for our Office Windows Gallery. Tell us your name, where you work, what the view is of.
Gazing's good for you! Your boss may not like it, but staring out the window will do you good, according to eye health experts. Christina Chapman, Principle Optometrist with Optique in Southampton, told us: "Computer screen work is very visually demanding."听

"We definitely recommend that you regularly give your eyes a break by looking away from the screen and focusing into the distance and making sure you get that vision clear." "In order to focus on your screen, your eyes have to put in effort and the muscles have to turn the eyes together so they'll get tired doing that for any length of time.听 If you focus away, all those muscles can relax and you'll feel a lot less tired at the end of the day."听 "You also need to blink regularly, a lot of people find their eyes dry out staring at the screen because the blink pattern changes - so think about blinking and take regular breaks!" |
