Georgia Wonder are Stephanie Grant and Julian Moore, they formed seven years ago, and got their name from a vaudeville show that toured the US in the late 1800's. A completely DIY band, Georgia Wonder's music mixes 70's style rock like the Eagles and The Carpenters with a bit of country.
Help playing audio/video The band are currently working on an EP and their first ever video for 'Would Love To Meet'听a song about online dating, the EP is due for release on May 13. Steph / Georgia Wonder Julian believes that the album is dead in many ways, and as they do everything themselves they've opted for a different approach as Julian explains: "When you're releasing stuff yourself you can't afford to do the major label release schedule of one album and then tour for a year and a half." "We figured why don't we just release three EPs a year, that means we're always releasing something, that's still 12 tracks a year and then we'll do a 'best of' every year and a half." Georgia Wonder have also performed on South:Live with Phil Jackson in September 2007. You can listen to four tracks from their South:Live session and their interview with Phil Jackson by clicking the audio links below. If you're in a band from Hampshire or the Isle of Wight and would like to be considered for the show simply send in your CD together with a completed South:Live Entry Form and keep your fingers crossed!
