We asked for your nominations of people who went the extra mile to help people during the July 2007 floods in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

It could have been someone who helped a neighbour, or a motorist stranded in the floodwater, it may have been someone who helped out at one of the emergency centres across the two counties, or someone from the emergency services who helped to rescue someone in real danger.

This was your chance to have an unsung hero recognised for the praise they deserved.
