Witley
Court in Worcestershire has been given more than three quarter of
a million pounds to restore its famous fountains.
The
lottery cash will help finance the next stage of work at one of
Britain's most important Victorian Gardens.
The
ruined former mansion house, which stands near the village of Great
Witley, has been lined up for a lottery grant of 拢727,000.
The
handout is one of just seven announced by the National Lottery and
allows English Heritage, who manage the site, to conduct further
repairs on Witley Court's magnificent Perseus and Andromeda fountain.
The
renowned water-feature dates back to the 19th century and stands
in the heart of the estate's gardens.
A spokesperson
for English Heritage said that the money helps culminate several
years of hard work to try to save the site and restore it for future
generations to enjoy.
