Rachel
Willis from 大象传媒 Hereford and Worcester finds out more:
What
is your most successful piece of work?
"I have no one piece that I hold as especially successful.
However, a series of glowing monochrome images which portray my
response to a number of 'hulks' that rot on the banks of the Severn
Estuary is one set that realised my emotional response at the time.

"Another
series of images that I have always enjoyed are images of objects
made in sunlight on photographic paper, without the use of a camera.
These are 'Sun Prints' - a technique which dates back to the 1830's.
(Info on my website - look under 'Galleries' - go to 'Sun Prints').
What
are you working on at the moment?
"A series of images which illustrate my reactions to small
village graveyards in France"
What
plans have you got for the future?
"To continue with a series of images which represent aspects
of Rural France."
Have
you worked on anything in the local area? "Yes, lots of subjects.
One of the most evocative locations is Witley Court - and just lately
a ploughing match near Trumpet."

Have
you got any tips for local artists and photographers?
"Think about what it is that you wish to convey - the essential
nature of the subject, then represent it as simply and as economically
as possible. Leave some 'questions' in the work for the viewer to
resolve - hopefully by bringing their individual interpretation
and response to the image."
