Broadway
is one of the most beautiful villages in England.
The
street through Broadway was an ancient 'ridgeway' and
the main road from Worcester to London.
The
village began as a possession of the Benedictine Abbey
of Pershore and remained so until the reformation in 1539.
The
Lygon Arms is steeped in history. During the Civil War,
King Charles I conferred with his confidants and Oliver
Cromwell actually slept at The Inn.
