Screen and television stars Stephen McGann, Frazer Hines and Kevin
Pallister – who last worked together on the TV soap Emmerdale – join
a fourteen strong cast to play rivals for one of Hardy's most popular
characters, the spirited Bathsheba Everdene.
The story is played out on a period set, interlaced with live music,
country dance, Wessex song and humour.
It takes a colourful journey through Hardy country as Bathsheba is
forced to choose between patient, generous love and unscrupulous passion.
Frazer is more of a gentleman farmer than Emmerdale’s Joe Sugden whilst
Stephen plays a lowly shepherd.
Kevin plays the dashing Sergeant Troy who ensnares beautiful Bethsheba
with a breath-taking demonstration of his sword-wielding skills.
Audiences attending the opening night will have a chance to meet the
cast and the designer/ adapter in the bar after the show.
