This
is the kind of show that throws up a lot of questions - from How do
they get away with it? to Why has no-one thought of the idea before?
The
show is the brainchild of David 'Friendly' Friend and Simon Morley.
It's their proud boast that to date Puppetry of the Penis is the
show which has delighted over 1,000,000 fans worldwide, and now
it's back in the UK.
It all started, as so many hit shows do, at the Edinburgh festival
in 2001.
You can just see some bewildered theatre owner saying "You
want to do what!?"
The show was a hit north of the border and then London-based theatre
producer David Johnson, was so impressed by Simon and Friendly's
material he immediately booked a theatre in London's West End.
The show played at the Whitehall Theatre for five months and since
then, Simon and Friendly have never looked back.
Puppetry of the Penis continues to be a sell-out not only throughout
the UK, but also in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, New
York, and will receive its French premiere in Paris during February
2004.
The publicity material admits the show is "shocking, hilarious,
ridiculous and raw."
Puppetry of the Penis is certainly that - these well-endowed Australians
manipulate, with great charm and aplomb, their genitalia into various
shapes, objects and landmarks.
A video camera projects every intimate detail of these incredible
phenomena onto a large screen, ensuring that little can be missed
- even from the back row!
Puppetry
of the Penis counts Elton John, Naomi Campbell, Joan Rivers, Lulu,
Posh & Becks amongst their fans.
Puppetry of the Penis is an adults-only, non-sexual show featuring
full-frontal male nudity - so be warned.
