THE DISCOVERY
Captain Scott's ship The Discovery, is now permanently docked in Dundee at the Riverside. The Discovery is located directly across from the railway station and is signposted well from the city centre. Discovery Point is attached to the attraction,housing all the audio and visual information about the incredible ship鈥檚 journey. You can get a joint ticket for Verdant works and Discovery point.

 

JUTE MILLS
The Verdant Works is located in West Henderson鈥檚 Wynd, West of the Marketgait. This building was once a real working mill that was part of Dundee鈥檚 thriving jute industry. The mill stopped production around 1895 and since 1996 has housed a living reminder of a Dundee鈥檚 historic past incorporating modern displays and original mill machinery. You can get a joint ticket for Verdant Works and Discovery point.

 

CAIRD HALL and ALBERT SQUARE
The Caird Hall and Albert Square are both in the centre of Dundee, about 5 minutes away from each other. From the pillars at the Caird Hall ,follow the road that looks straight ahead called Reform Street, that road will lead you to Albert Square. Dundee’s Albert Square has the grandest Albert Memorial outside London and you can discover the McManus Art Galleries housed in a fine Victorian building.

 

TAY RAIL BRIDGE
The first Tay Rail Bridge was designed by Thomas Bouch and was built in 1878. After the disaster in 1879 the new bridge rebuilt in 1887 still stands today. The Tay Bridge can be reached by car and is signposted from the centre of Dundee. Alternatively, a walk from the Discovery would take about 25 minutes.
