The Vauxbelets College was occupied by the Germans, so the school never opened up in the college, it opened up in the farm buildings. That鈥檚 an interesting thing, we were in the farm, and we were being taught in the farm. I remember that the food situation got that bad that if it was devised by Brother Victor and the parents that those that could, on a Monday morning would bring what vegetables they could and that would form a basis of providing soup for us at school.
