My grandfather served on HMS Sirius from 1942-1946.I started looking in to her and any storys about my grandfather. When our local paper did a story on a local man called Charlie Stretch who served on Sirius aswell. With this i got in touch with the paper and sent them a picture of my grandfather. I then got a phone call from Charlie saying he had had an email from Florida from a man who new my grandfather that well he broke his nose sparring in a boxing match. I then received another email from a man from Huddesfield called James Robinson who's farther had served on HMS Sirius aswell, he sent me a couple of pictuers. I could not believe it when i received the pictuers because my grandad was on one of them stood right next to James Robinsons farther, i then sent James a picture i had and his farther was on that.

Any way our local paper did a story on it about how i had got in touch with Charlie and Pat Smith from Florida and how myself and James Robinson had pictuers of our Grandfather and farther who both served on HMS sirius.Pat Smith and Charlie Stretch speak to me quite often now and it is great to hear the storys from men who served on Sirius in those terrible times.
