1. Was you ever scared during the war?
Yes. Everyone was scared of what was going to happen to them.
2. Did you make any friends during the war?
Yes, you had to make lots of friends so you could work as a team. They were the best friends I ever made.
3. Did you want to join the army?
No, I was called up and I had to join.
4. What was your most terrifying experience?
When my tank got a direct hit and we had to bail out, and bail out quickly.
5. How old were you when you were called up for the army?
I was 20 years of age when I was called up.
6. How many years were at war for?
I was called to join the army in 1939 and went abroad in 1940 and was there for 4 years.
7. Do you still speak to any of your friends from the army?
No because their all in their 80鈥檚 and 90鈥檚 and most of them have passed away.
8. How many places were you at war at?
My first major battle was the battle of El, Alamain in Egypt and then we went through Sicily and then to Italy, and then met up with the Americans in Austria.
9. Did you ever get to leave to go home during the war?
Not while the war was on, nobody got to go home.
10. Did you have respect for Winston Churchill for joining the War?
Yes because he was one of the few men who stood up to Adolf Hitler who wanted to rule the world.
