Why is it, that in the year 2005, we read that our Government, which is supposed to be New Labour, is out with their butchery knives and are once again cutting our Armed Services. It is stated that Britain is the heaviest taxed Country in the World.

I was born on 3 July 1918 at Roberts Yard in Croydon in Surrey. In the summer of 1920, my parents returned to West Road in Mortlake in Surrey. The reason for this, is that my grandmother had run away, leaving my grandfather with the children. My mother helped bring up her brothers and sisters because of this.

As I grew older, I learnt a lot about the First World War 1914 - 1918. Many of the old veterans said that, the War had not finished. Work was hard to come by,men worked from one day to the next, never knowing if they were going to get another's days work or not. If you were lucky to have a regular job then you worked from one day to the other. You could never be sure if you were able to get work or not. Life was very hard in those days!

I can remember the General Strike of 1926, where one out and everybody was out. There was no buses or trains. But out went the Government, they were being called the penny pinching bastards. Then another Government had been elected. One learnt all manner of swear words in those days. They were all of the letters F, the C, and the B's. This sort of language was being used every day but then life went on as usual.

In 1933, when Hitler came to power in Germany, we read more about the Nazi Party. Hitler built up the German Air Force. You often heard people saying that the War was coming more often than enough. In fact, many said that the writing was on the wall and then all of the butchering went on in our Armed Forces.

When Hitler's Germany started a walkabout by taking back territories that had been taken away from Germany in 1919 by the Allies. It was stated that the Germans had broken every treaty that was ever made in 1919 with the Allies.

The League of Nations just stood by and let it happen. They then just wrote a letter to Germany. In 1936, when the Germans marched from the Rhineland, from which the British and French were policing, the World just stood by and let it happen.

In 1938, the British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain returned waving that famous piece of paper "Peace in our Time".

Over the year, England and France must have known what was going on in Germany. I bet the Germans knew of what state our Armed Forces was in at that time. It is stated that the War Office was informed that the German Army was mobile and all that they did was to shrug their shoulders!

When War was declared on 3 September 1939, it then appeared in the Press that we were not ready for War. Our Armed Forces had been cut to the bone by those butchers in the Government.

The Second World War is now History. The British Expeditionary Force had been sent to France with shortages of tanks, heavy guns, Anti Tank guns, and mortar hand grenades. Also in 1940, our factories were still on "Peace Time" production.

Both the British and the French had been resting on their laurels about the
1914-1918 War. With the amount of blunders that had been made by the British and the French Command, together with the stupidness of the Government. The butchering lead to the defeat of the French Army and also the defeat of British Expeditionary Force.

Men had been sent to their certain deaths, because of these shortages. But the British Expeditionary Force gave their Country, Britain, the time to prepare it defences against an invasion. Had it not been for the Royal Air Force, then events at that time would have appeared in the History books a lot different than they were.

The courage, heroism and the sacrifice that these men, which were Officers and other ranks of the British Expeditionary Force. These men had been forgotten at the end of the War.

There were those that had been killed and wounded and thousands had been taken as Prisoners of War. The men that had been taken as Prisoners of War suffered in the hands of the Germans. Men had been left to starve to death, also men had died because of the lack of medical attention. There were also men that had been murdered by these German guards. This was all due to the acts of a Government that had used the butchers knife instead of facing up to the security of our Country.

Our Part time Government, New Labour of today, works a four day week and long holidays. They receive full time salaries, perks and subsidised restaurants costs and long holidays all paid for. When in fact all that they should receive is part time salaries, part time perks and for them to pay for all of their food and drinks in the restaurants, like us mere mortals who live in the real world, where you go to work and work a full time job to enable you to be eligible for full time wages. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT !!!!!!

There has been and it is still going on all of this FREE LOADING with the Members of Parliament.

ALL THAT THEY PRODUCE IS HOT AIR!!!!!!!!

They want to remember that the security of this Country comes first. We also now, have the enemy within, as well as the enemy outside. To use the butchers knives, does not solve anything.

The Ministry of War, knows nothing about the Military, he knows only what he reads and the information that is given to him by the Military. He would soon change his attitude if, that, when they were to declare War, that the Ministry of Defence and his staff, be based in that theatre of War, he would not be using his KNIFE so much then!

It is not the money that needs to be saved in the run up of a War, but the lives of those servicemen, they deserve the best.
