Our interview went very well and lasted a whole two hours. Two of them were married after the war by the name of Taylor, the gentlemans name was Walter. They still share their experiences with each other. One of the women brought in a copy of a ration book and an identity card, one of the other women showed us what they were allowed to eat each day.
Walter who was 20 during the war, who is now 80, told us many of his stories including when he arrived on gold beach, he told us that he wasn't scared at all. Walter said that one of the worst things that could happen to you was if one of your friends of colleges, he said that if that happened it really did hit you that you were fighting in a war and that this was real.

We also had a women there who was a child during the war, Jean claimed that when she was taken to the train platform she didn't know where she was going or who she was going with. She told us she never knew anyone there and felt scared also the other children were horrible to her and treated her badly.

There was another women called Betty Skinner who was born in 1917 and lived through the whole of the Second World War. Betty told us that she worked in an office nearby and that once when she was going to work she spotted something glittery and didn't know what it was, and then a few minutes later she heard that the town hall had been blown up, and that it was full of hundreds of children.

Some of the comments made in the interview were not relevant to the questions we asked and it was really hard to carry on to the next question because they had so much to say. All in All they gave lots of useful information, and they were very kind and willing to tell us their stories, which have inspired and given us a widre outlook on the Second World War.
