My father had bad feet in the war due to him marching so much and he had to stay in hospital for treatment on them. He was in hospital for two weeks and during that time, the whole of the group of men he had been with, were killed. I have no idea how many people that involved. He was not happy that he survived and his friends died. If he had been killed I and my sister would not have been born and neither would my daughter and son and their four children. Our family history carried on and I am here because of his feet!
