I am now 84 and have been blind for the last seven years.
We moved from Leicestershire to Lyndhurst in Blidworth when I was 7 or 8 years old.
Two of my brothers, John William Hemsley and Edward Hemsley, were klled in a mining accident at Blidworth pit. I had another brother who went to the Middle East in the forces and got killed. The family had some very bad luck.
I worked in a factory in Mansfield during the war.
I saw the British plane which crahed in Farnsfield outside the village. I had gone to live in Farnsfield. I saw it come along Dale Lane towards Farnsfield and saw it come down over the first fields. The pilot died.
