Our kid got leave from the navy
he'd got a surprise for our mam
a great tree of bananas but as he got out of the tram

the kids came running from nowhere
all followed him home to our street
he looked like the flippin pied piper
taking the kids for a treat
he looked down at the little faces all lifted up in awe
they'd never seen a banana, only pictures before

so every child was given one
then clutching it in their hands
said "Thanks mister, we'll go and show our mams"
but only one banana was left for our mam!
