I remember that some people had to wear tin hats when the sirens went and we had to go to a shelter in the cellar. I also remember seeing lots of barrage balloons. We had to give home to family of evacuees from Catford in London. Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler and their son John who was about 10 years old. After the war I went to stay with them at their home in London.
