1941:Due to heavy bombing I was invited to next door with mother and father. To share their andison shelter if the bombing got heavy. My mother said we were going but I didn't want to leave my dog, Dinha but she made me at once. About 1:00am the bomb fell on my house, I was asleep at the time. My eyes opened and I could see the moon. There was no panic somebody was calming me down and telling me to stay still and wait to see if we can get out. A voice from outside was calling "Is everyone ok?" We said yes everyone was ok.
We managed to dig our way out. When I looked at my house I saw it had been blasted with my dog still inside. My dad was an 'on duty police officer', he asked me what was the matter. My mother said Dinha was trapped inside. He called her and we saw her poke her head out where the front door would have been. She came out alive and well.
