Is this a million to one chance?
In 1941 while my (then future) husband R.George medhurst was a student at Cambridge, his mother Mrs. Edith medhurst, wrote to tell him that a bomb had dropped opposite their house.

A piece of shrapnel went through the front window, through the double doors and into a bookcase where it embedded itself in the spine of a book:

The title of the book was "the shape of things to come" by H.G.Wells.

Considering that my husband a prolific collector of science fiction and had hundreds of books, it would be impossible to plan such an incident! I still have the original letters to prove this story.
