During world war 2 my wife lost her father he was killed and was awarded the Victorian Cross for bravery. My wife and I were in the RAF during the world war 2 where we met,we were both lucky to survive,we lost a lot of friend during that time.We married in 1948 in Sheffield and had a daughter 2years later. We were glad that she didn't have to go through the evacuations during the the war like the other children had to.You always made the best of everything even when things were raskened,as you had people dying around you,you had to be thankful.I had good memories and sad ones too,but I had a very happy life with my wife for 53years and i've seen my grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up and I couldn't ask for more.
