As a 12 year old boy I vividly remember waiting outside the Irwin Arms at Halton Leeds. I was waiting for the airman from the 8th Airforce to come out. I don't know where they were based perhaps someone can tell me but they would give us Hershey bars and money. They were very generous. It was such a luxury as we never had chocolate and sweets.
