I am studying for an MA with the Open University in British film history. I'm currently researching four British films - The Memphis Belle, The War Bride, The Dressmaker and Chicago Joe and the Showgirl, which all depict American GI's. I'm interested in whether attitudes toward the GI's in Britain had changed and if so why.
