I was born in 1950 in North Norfolk which has many WW2 airfields scattered across it.
I first became interested in WW2 when I was about eight by reading a comic I think it was called The Victor. and featured picture strip stories of medal winners in WW2. Then on a picnic on Langham airfield my brothers and I stumbled across the wreck of two mosquito aircraft hidden in the undergrowth. It was only the wooden hulks but you can imagine at that age I flew that aircraft in every possible battle I could think of. I have read many books on WW2 and am interested in everything to do with it. Both my parents had lived through the war. but it is only in the later years that I have managed to prise out of them what they really experianced. My mother being 12 when it started grown up and married by the time it had ended part of her story see. A5458610 My life in little Barningham 1938 to 1945. My father his story I'm still working on.
