Where to start? Right. Very original. I was born and raised in Barry,South Wales.
Eleven years old when WW2 ended.Yep! I'm officially a 'Geezer'.
Served an Apprenticeship at Barry Graving Docks,as a Fitter and Turner. Not actually my choice of a job, but my Father,(an Engine Driver), said, either learn a trade, or stay in Grammar School.
No argument from me. Anything to quit school.
I sailed as an Engineer during the 50s',seeing much of the World. Each time I came home on leave, the Country seemed smaller, so in 1960 I came to Canada. My intention was to visit two old friends, who'd immigrated a few years earlier, see some of the Country, and back to sea in a year.
The best laid plans of mice, etc, etc. 45 yrs. later,I'm still here,(in Ontario).
I've worked at every job imaginable. Coastguard, Taxi driver, Ass. Manager of a Finance Co;,ended up retiring after 25 yrs. with Ont. Corrections.
I've been married, and divorced, have three great kids,so life has treated me pretty well.
