My great uncle Basil Bastin was at Dunkirk and survived.
He went on to serve in Burma. He never spoke of these times but would sometimes get out pictures that he had sketched, cartoons and friends around the camp at Shamoga. The friends are Robinson,Castle and Raynor.
I also have a group photo of the 2nd Bn. The Queens Royal Regiment. Warrant Officers & Sergeants Mess dated 1945 and a small silver cup awarded for best shot in B company 4 battalion Oxford Bucks Light Infantry.
It would be great if anyone had any more info on where he served and what his regiment did during the war.
I remember him as a warm friendly man who was always smiling, he died on 6 Feb 1993 and left no family.
