I was brought up in Richmond Surrey along with brothers and sisters. I spent much of the war years there going to school, firstly at St John's and then on to Gainsborough secondary. I left school at the age of 14 and whilst waiting for a job with an apprentaship I worked as a delivery boy with Boots the chemist in the high street in Richmond. I left there after about a year to begin a career as a carpenter. The rest of my working life was in that field and in fact at the age of 72 I am still working as a carpenter here in Spain where I now live. Since I have lived here I have had contact with a couple of my old friends from the old days but I would like to hear from more of course.
