I am interested in world war two from a "family history" point of view. Although I have traced my family tree back many generations, I am trying to "fill in" details about the more recent generations. My mother worked in a factory during WW2, which was hit by a V1 rocket. My father was called up (Royal Engineers), but didn't serve overseas - the furthest he got was the Isle of Wight and The Shetland Isles. My mothers cousins were is many areas of the war - Balloon barrage, RAF, Bevin Boy, Burma Railway etc. Even my grandfather - ex-regular soldier and POW in WW1 - did fire-watching. My mother has told me, and written down many of her experiences in the War and I would hope, if I can subot some of them, other people may be interested.
