Hello to anyone reading this. I have always been interested in the war years and of the way the soldiers and thier families coped during the struggle of the times, since I was about 10-12yrs of age,. In later life I discovered my Father was a Commando during the war. Sadly he passed away some 25 years ago. Talking of our interest within the family my brother, sister and myself decided to research our Dad's war history. finding out he was in No3 Commando [army] Our brother found out a little more of the Commandos for us, then in November 1999 we travelled to Fort William in Scotland to join in the rememberance services and meet with other Commandos.Learning of the men training at Achnacary and seeing the wonderful statue of three Commandos high on the hill at Spean Bridge. We have met with many men of the commandos and they have been unbelievably helpful in our research. Giving us a welcome wherever we are.and taken us into their hearts as we have taken so to them.
