My name is Alice McKay and I live with my husband, Ian, in Sydney, Australia. I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and emigrated to Australia in 1964. I was delighted to be able to write an article for the WW2 People's War collection, as I felt both my Aunt, Marjorie Ewen, and my Mother, Gwen Franks (nee Ewen), had each served in their own way.
