My name is Shirley Croucher,I lived in Kingston on Thames during world war 2 and was just 4 years old when the war started.I remember my Father joning the army in 1939 and leaving us all dressed in his uniform. My sister was born just three days before all this happened. My poor mother must have been deside herself.I grew up very quickly during the next five years.
At the monent I am writing all my experiances of that time into a book form for my three children. I hope that this will help them unerstand what war is all about.
