About the contributor

CSV Media NI
User ID: U1489553

CSV Media NI creates opportunities for people to play an active part in the life of their community through media.

CSV Media NI encouraged and enabled hundreds of people from across Northern Ireland 鈥 people from veteran鈥檚 organisations, care homes, groups that involve older people, as well as individuals 鈥 to tell their WW2 stories and record them on the 大象传媒 People鈥檚 War archive.

We worked in partnership with: the Royal British Legion, the Volunteer Development Agency, Volunteer Bureaux Northern Ireland, Business in the Community, Libraries, Museums & Heritage Centres, Universities & Colleges of Further Education, Veterans Organisations and Organisations involving older people to provide training for over 200 volunteer story-gatherers across Northern Ireland.

The training in interview & story-gathering techniques and People鈥檚 War Website navigation helped volunteers to develop their IT and internet skills and enabled them to collect stories and memories at WW2 Events across Northern Ireland and post them on the 大象传媒 archive.

The following stories include adult & childhood memories about what it was like to serve in the forces, support the troops behind the front line, 鈥渕ake do鈥 on the home front, or live as an evacuee during World War II.
