My late father died some thirty five years ago.During WW2 he was the Adjutant for 56 Hurricane Squadron from 1940 to 1943. The squadron flew from North Weald during the Battle Of Britain and won many honours for their pilots individual bravery. Geoffrey Page, Taffy Higginson and Michael Constable-Maxwell were among the most highly decorated. Later the squadron was specially selected to fly the new Typhoon from Duxford.
We recently discovered a batch of black and white photographs hidden away in a box that he or someone else had taken of pilots relaxing before or after patrols between 1940 and 1943. The problem is we can only identify a few - many we simply know nothing about apart from the fact thay they were probably with 56 Squadron during and after the Battle Of Britian. They are posted on the site so if anyone can help out with identification then please let me know . Many thanks.
