Sgt A.White was my grandfather. He landed in Normandy on about D + 10 and then fought around Caen, at Hill 112, across France, Belgium and Holland before being part of the push across northern Germany in 1945. His platoon captured General Badinsky in France in August 1944 - grandfather came back to the UK with his pistol! He won the Military Medal ('MM') on Christmas Day 1944 for his part in stopping the 'Battle of the Bulge' in the Ardennes. I am interested to contact anyone who served with him or those whose relatives who served in G Company.
