I am researching the Military Service of my uncle.

My mother passed away 2 years ago, but from the Obit she kept here is what I have.

Rouse - Feb. 18 1944, "Bennie" Rouse (Lance Corporal Rouse, Royal Engineers) Aged 30 years. Died at Oxford on return from two years service with 8th Army, M.E.F., C.M.F., B.N.A.F., dearly loved youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Rouse.

From this can we tell what unit he was with, and what battles he might have participated in. I believe he was in present day Palestine, Egypt and the Soudan.

From the War Graves Commission, I know his grave is Row K.D. Grave 21 Uxbridge (Hillingdon) Cemetery.

I believe he was seriously injured in Italy and brought back to England by the RAF, taken to Uxbridge Hillingdon Hospital and died there.

The War Graves Commission shows 1895651 as his number. Perhaps this helps as an identifier.

Using this number could I get his military records.

Thank you.
