Born in 1922, Nick Ziemnicki served six years in the Polish Army with the Allied Forces during the Second World War. After the war, he graduated in Electrical Engineering in England at Portsmouth and in 1952 emigrated to Canada where he settled and married in Toronto.
As a professional engineer, he worked for General Electric Company until retirement. He also instructed evening courses for engineers at the Ryerson Polytechnical Institute.
He has written two reference books for engineers and been granted several patents.
Related to his war experiences, Nick is the author of "Land and Sea Borders I Crossed" chronicling his journey as a 17 year old polish boy through the Carpathian mountains in winter to join the exiled Polish Army, and "How the War Was Won- An Allied Army Volunter" which is a collection of 70 short stories based on his experiences during the war.
Today, at 82, Nick lives in Toronto, Canada and continues to enjoy his life through writing and participating in many community activities.
