I am 72 years old, born in Purfleet, Essex and spent 2 years as evacuee in Wiltshire before returning home to go to grammar school.
During war years aged 7-13 so saw the war as a bit of excitement rather than terror.
After 2 years national service in RAF spent 2 years in London City office then into scientific work, then ready mixed concrete, which caused me to uproot to first Sittingbourne, Kent for the M2 motorway, then Cheshire for 14 years to help build a company in Manchester area. Finally to Surrey to run technical training country - wide.
Now retired in Christchurch, Dorset.
