The North Ferriby Dramatic Society has been entertaining local audiences for over 50 years. Their productions have been presented at drama festivals across the country. The society's next project is a comedy charade which premiered on Thursday 22nd February 2007 at the Village Hall in North Ferriby.

Titled 鈥榃hose Room Is This Anyway?鈥 the comedy has been written by Hull playwright Mark Lister 鈥 known to the society as actor and director Alan Harrison. Mark turned to writing over eight years ago and has written a number of plays for the society including the musical, Moving On. 鈥淚've written straight comedy and this latest one has a farcical element to it.鈥 said Mark. 鈥淚t鈥檚 larger than life so a lot of the laughs come from the silly business, some of the idiotic things that people do in this play.鈥

Centred on the mishaps of a hotel, the play follows a group of people 鈥 a politician and his private secretary, an illegal immigrant, a policeman and a medium 鈥 embroiled in a series of misfortunate deeds.

The confusion that ensues builds to a complexity of mistaken identities, death defying falls and general mayhem. Actress Pamela Wilde, who plays the medium Ada Pollack, joined the society over 30 years ago and has played a variety of roles but assumes her best role in characterising the older female personality. 鈥淚 am a bit dippy so I鈥檓 probably related to Ada somehow. She just came very naturally to me. 鈥淚 find character acting very easy, dramatic roles are harder.鈥 added Pamela.
