Women photographers

Some of the Sierra Leone photographers

On show will be photographic images surrounding gender issues and daily life in Sierra Leone,听 captured by a group of women in Freetown who took part in the Wilberforce Women鈥檚 collaborative photography project in 2007.

A core group of these women have since formed the Women鈥檚 Photographer鈥檚 Organisation Sierra Leone and are using photography to document听 their work, to advocate for change on an issue which affects them, for creative expression, or to try and earn a living.

The event will also feature a lively and thought-provoking selection of short films and footage taken by young people in Freetown, as part of the Cafesociety.org project under the direction of Hull film-maker Jon Robson.
