St Saviour - Hanamachi St Saviour has won the top prize at the 2009 Battle of Flowers. Their float, called Hanamachi, was inspired by Japanese Gardens. It includes orchids, large pergolas, huge pink fans, traditional moon gates and intricate peacocks. It was designed by Jean Roche and Samantha Dean. The second overall prize, the Prix d'Excellence, was won by St Clement with their float Pegasus, which is based on Greek mythology and features the winged horse Pegasus as its central piece. Trinity won the top parish award with their float celebrating the fifty-year anniversary of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. And the top prize for paper flower exhibits went to Peter Heath and Friends, with Grouville winning the Junior Exhibitor's Award. St Brelade's One Short Day, based on the musical Wicked, was awarded the prize for best costumes.
