campsite at Leeds Festival

How many will be left behind?

Endless possibilities

Non-profit organisation Everything's Possible re-sell all the abandoned camping equipment from the Leeds Festival to local community groups.

Every year after Leeds Festival, thousands of items of camping equipment are left behind by festival-goers. This year in partnership with Festival Republic (the organisers of Leeds Festival) 'Everything's Possible', a not-for-profit organisation based in Leeds, will be responsible for helping to clear the festival site, reclaiming usable equipment which is in a good condition and redistributing it to local community groups at a very low cost.

Then from Friday 4 September until Sunday 6 September 2009, Everything's Possible and partner organisation, Re-Work (an ethical business reselling used office furniture) will offer this equipment to local community groups. During these dates, people can come and collect as much equipment as they need. For 拢25 a full carload or individual items for small donations.

The money will be used to cover the cost of staffing the redistribution days. The equipment on offer is expected to include sleeping bags (last year there were over 600!), tents of all sizes and sleeping mats, wellies, folding chairs, small camping and cooking equipment, torches, stoves, picnic-ware etc.

Festival Republic, Everything's Possible and Re-Work have declared themselves committed to reducing waste and redistributing equipment to organisations in need of it rather than sentencing quality usable equipment to landfill.

Set up in 1999, Everything's Possible aims to offer people aged 16-30 the chance to travel abroad on international mobility projects for free - offering diverse experiences especially to those who may have little or no chance to travel. Working within the EVS
(European Voluntary Service) and Leonardo da Vinci - both funded by the European Commission - the aim is to broaden young people's horizons and allow them to see the world.

Re-Work Office Furniture is a community interest company which wants to ensure that good quality office furniture are re-used, re-cycled and passed on at a low cost to charities, community groups, schools and small business start-ups.

If you or your organisation are interested in the camping equipment, you can visit Re-Work Office Furniture, Unit 15, Hunslet Trading Estate, Severn Way, Hunslet during the following dates:
Friday 4 September 2009 - 10am - 5pm
Saturday 5 September 2009 - 10am - 5pm
Sunday 6 September 2009 - 10am - 12noon
