South Street 1900 South Street was part of the plan created by Joseph Pease and the other Middlesbrough Estate Owners. Four roads, North, South, East and West led from the central square. A blacksmith, tailor, joiner and innkeeper were a few of the first inhabitants to buy plots in the town.
