A men-only diet club in Leicester is celebrating expansion for once - after opening a new branch. Calorie Killers in Braunstone now has 50 members since being set up last year. It has been so successful it is now branching out to nearby New Parks. The group was established by Braunstone Community Association (BCA), which runs a multi-million pound Government-funded regeneration scheme in the area. Club treasurer Terry Buncher, aged 45, says he has lost over three stone since joining in 2005. He said: "Going to the group for the first time may seem a bit daunting but basically it's just a bunch of blokes getting together, having a laugh and getting fitter in the process. "Lots of our members weren't used to exercise but once they got involved they started to enjoy it and now look forward to coming here every week". The BCA has spent 拢52m in the past five years on over 100 projects to improve Braunstone. Members of the New Parks group meet at St Aidan's Church Hall on Thursdays from 9.30-11.30am.
