A number of paranormal sightings have been reported at the pub, with several figures allegedly seen on more than one occasion.

Many of these sightings are attributed to the fact that at one time The Talbot provided death row convicts with their last meal. It is rumoured that these departed souls linger in the pub, haunting the building where they ate their final meal.

However, they are not alone - several different ghosts have repeatedly been spotted by a number of people.

One apparition, a female figure with long flowing hair, has been reported passing through a wall of the pub in the dead of night. This is assumed to be the ghost of Mary Dawson, a former landlady.

Another frequent paranormal visitor is the ghost of an elderly gentleman dressed in an old cape-style raincoat.

He enters the building by walking through a wall where an entrance was previously located. He then moves towards the bar and opens an old purse before walking off to his left through another wall.

A further apparition is of a small boy who sits by the fire on a low stool. One staff member has reported him smiling at her before disappearing when she moved to approach him.

In addition to these spooky figures, punters report seeing faces in the glass of the lounge door and witness the bell above the bar move, seemingly of its own accord.

What could be causing this activity?

The Talbot is located opposite Belgrave Hall, another building that Haunted Leicester has investigated for signs of paranormal activity.
