Boogie Woogie is a popular Bollywood dance reality TV show, which has swept through India allowing participants to showcase their talent and now it's come to Leicester.

What was this competition all about? I went to the Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre on 21 July to find out. The auditions kicked off at 09:30, but was everyone prepared, including the people behind the scenes?

The day of the competition was fierce, and the level of the talent was extremely high as participants had spent hours and hours preparing and practicing.

Since last year, Boogie Woogie introduced different categories such as Duets, groups, 21's and over to take part.

So this gave everybody of any age a chance to take part in the competition, which is amazing!

I interviewed some of the outstanding and talented contestants in Leicester.

Every year the number of contestants participating increases.

Auditions will take place in three regions across England - North, South and the Midlands. People have so far auditioned in Leicester, Birmingham, Nottingham, and London.

This year they will be auditioning in Middlesbrough and Bolton and as far as Manchester. There are large Asian communities scattered across the UK, but there are very few dance resources.

Boogie Woogie 2006

Last year's Boogie Woogie UK Final included exclusive performances by MOBO award winner Raghav and Bombay Dreams star Preeya Kalidas.

The Boogie Woogie winners received an all expenses paid trip to New York, where they performed alongside Bollywood stars Sunil Shetty and Mahima Chaudhry.

YOU too can put on your dancing shoes and do a little boogie at the Boogie Woogie auditions.
