Are you a Merseyside poet or spoken word performer?

The Nothing Rhymes With Poets project is giving Merseyside poets and performers the chance to have their work shown on the 大象传媒 Big Screen Liverpool.


The Nothing Rhymes With Poets project is calling for submissions from Merseyside poets and performers interested in having their work shown on the 大象传媒 Big Screen Liverpool.

From the initial submissions, a shortlist of poets will be given the opportunity to enhance their poetry performance skills to prepare them for a live audition.听 From the audition five people will be selected to take part in a short film to be broadcast on 大象传媒 Big Screen Liverpool throughout September and will receive 拢200 each.

How to enter:

All poems should be accompanied by an entry form.听

Applications may also be hand delivered to Radio Merseyside Reception, also at this address.

The closing date for submissions is Tuesday 16th May 2006 at 2pm

Competition rules:
1. Entry is free
2. All poets must reside in the Merseyside area
3. You must be aged 18 or over to apply
4. All poems must be the original work of the author
5. Poems must be between 30 seconds and 2 minutes long when performed
6. Poems can be based on any theme
7. Entries are limited to 2 poems per person
8. Poems must be in English
9. Entries should be typed or clearly hand written and the name of the author should not appear on the manuscript to ensure anonymity

Regretfully we will be unable to return your poems so please do not send the original copy.

From the initial poetry submissions, a shortlist of poets will be invited to attend a workshop and live audition and will be notified by email and phone by Monday 5th June.

The performance-based workshop will be held on Saturday 10th June with the live auditions taking place on Wednesday 14th June from 5pm.

Poets chosen by the selection panel from the live auditions will be required to attend a film shoot where they will perform their poem.听

The film shoot is scheduled between Saturday 24th June and Saturday 8th July; each person will be required to attend for approximately 1陆 days.听 Exact dates and times will be allocated nearer to the time.

Transmission is dependent on 大象传媒 schedules but the launch date for the film is expected to be in mid-September.
